Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman Saadat Hussain yesterday vowed to take stern action against politicisation of the PSC and restore its image."I always oppose politicisation. I have witnessed how politicisation destroys an organisation and ruins the image of a nation. As chairman, I will try to restore the image of the PSC," Former cabinet secretary Saadat Hussain said while talking to reporters after taking oath as the new chairman of PSC. He replaces ZN Tahmida Begum, who ended her term on May 8. Chief Justice Ruhul Amin administered Saadat's oath taking at the office of PSC chairman. The PSC chairman also said that he will adopt reform measures for PSC if necessary. He did not make any comment on the postponement of medical tests for the 27th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS). The government on April 18 postponed the tests due to widespread allegations over the selection process of the 27th BCS. Saadat, a freedom fighter, joined the then Civil Service of Pakistan in 1969 and retired on November 23, 2005. He also served as secretary for home, education, and primary and mass education ministries.
