Troublemakers back again?

The homegrown terrorists have come back again. Their presence has been felt in three major railway stations. Luckily, there was no casualty as reported in the BBC Bengali service news. The BBC also aired comments of the security experts, the police chief, and a key adviser on the issue. The major political parties have also expressed their concern. One of the security experts mentioned that the people of Bangladesh are opposed to any kind of terrorist activities, therefore we need to create strong awareness among the people to help combat terrorist acts. This is absolutely true. People's vigilance is a precondition to combat terrorist acts. In this regard, one can expect the law enforcing agencies to provide necessary information for the people to act or react. Six JMB leaders were hanged recently. One thing remains unrevealed i.e. who are their patrons and behind the emergence of terrorist activities in Bangladesh, and who gave training and financed their activities; are they active again ? This is an old question and will come back again and again until some definitive answers are found and released for public information. The other important question is, did the six hanged terrorists give any kind of operational details of their activities since they had admitted their guilt? If they have, the people need to know. If any information is kept secret for national security, at least the people can be informed what the government considers the people should know to help combat terrorism.
