4 bogies of train derail

A Chittagong bound container train derailed at 6:30am yesterday at Nawty area near Laksam Railway Station in the district. The accident caused suspension of train services for hours forcing thousands of passengers to remain stranded at different points. The train started for Chittagong from Dhaka and arrived at Laksam after half an hour. As it resumed its journey, four bogies at the tail-end derailed at the southern end of the station. Officials said a rescue train from Akhaura reached the spot at 1:30pm ending sufferings of the passengers.
