B'baria 'killer' confesses to involvement


Clue to the April 25 doubled murder has started coming to light with one of the three alleged killers confessing to his involvement in the incident yesterday.

Salim Mia, arrested on Sunday, while giving statement before a First Class Magistrate court, confessed to his involvement in the murder.

He was placed on five days' remand for further interrogation, police and court sources said.

Police earlier arrested two alleged killers--Helal and Sujan from the town.

Salim narrated before the court how the murders were committed.

A gang entered the Chowdhury Cottage in the town on April 25 for burglary.

The burglars killed trader Rafiqul Islam and madrasa student Md. Ishak as they witnessed the theft.

SI Abdus Samad, IO of the case, told this correspondent said that he collected names of all the killers from the arrested persons. But he declined to elaborate for the sake of investigation.
