Court notices sent to relatives of Aminul, Nadim, Shish
Order to surrender within 3 days


Court notices served on former minister Aminul Haque, former BNP lawmaker Nadim Mostafa and Rajshahi district BNP secretary Shish Mohammad to surrender before court within three days were handed over to their relatives and also hung on walls of their houses yesterday.

The steps were taken as per rule as police failed to find them, police said.

Sub inspector Abdur Razzak of Godagari police station took the notice on Aminul to his home at Baruipara and handed over it to his relatives in the afternoon.

Assistant SI Abdul Quader of Boalia PS in the city took the notice on Nadim to his Hoseniganj house and handed it over to his father at around 8pm.

The same was done as regards Shish Mohammad and over 50 accused in five cases -- two for abetting militants in Bagmara, two for embezzlement of government relief CI sheets and cheating in Puthia and one case for land grabbing in Godagari.

Rajshahi Police Superintendent Didar Ahmed told newsmen that police tried to arrest the accused several times since charges were pressed against them in the cases on April 23.

"But, police could not reach them".

The first, second and third courts of First Class Magistrates in Rajshahi simultaneously served the notices on Aminul, Nadim, Shish Mohammad and over 50 other accused in five cases on Monday.

The courts mentioned in the notices that if they did not respond to the orders, trial of the cases would start in their absence.

Former deputy minister for land Ruhul Kuddus Talukhdar Dulu who was also accused in two cases in Bagmara for abetting militants surrendered before a court in Dhaka on February 20.
