Naogaon Bomb Blast
Prime suspect found dead

Unknown assailants killed the principal suspect in the May 4 Naogaon bomb blast case and then hung his body on a tree at Hat Damnash Ghoranipara in Bagmara yesterday.

The police recovered the body of Yasin Ali Chowkidar, 45, hanging from the tree after villagers informed them.

Citing the inquest report, the police said the body bore marks of injuries resulting from beating with weapons. The assailants might have strangled Yasin before hanging the body from the tree, they added.

Yasin was the second-in-command of a large terrorist outfit and he was wanted as main suspect in the bomb blast case, Officer-in-charge of Bagmara Police Station Mirza Golam Sarwar said quoting the Naogaon police.

Two powerful bombs went off at Chak Ramakantapur village in Manda, Naogaon, on May 4, leaving a young girl injured.

After the blasts, local police arrested Azibor and Amzad Hossain Dafadar who revealed information about Yasin's involvement, said OC Sarwar.
