'Women health workers can contribute a lot'
Speakers at a discussion recently said women health workers can contribute a great deal to bring positive social changes in remote areas, a press release said.

The discussion titled 'Contributions of civil society in preventing Aids, tuberculosis and malaria' was organised by Nari Unnayan Shakti at Teknaf in Cox's Bazar.

Addressing the meeting, Md Aminul Islam, deputy commissioner of Cox's Bazaar, said Teknaf is one of the most undeveloped upazilas in the country. The poverty-stricken people of the area are prone to aids, tuberculosis and malaria.

He sought all out cooperation from all to address these crises.

Presided over by Nari Unnayan Shakti President Afroza Parvin, the meeting was also addressed by Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer Altaf Hossain Chowdhury and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Shamsul Haq.
