Judge's court guard found dead in Satkhira

A night guard of the Satkhira Judges' Court was killed on Wednesday night inside the guardroom of the Judges' Court Building at Satkhira Collectorate. The victim was identified as Faridul Islam, 28, son of Modasser Mollah of village Sonatunia in Bagerhat district, also a night guard of the judges' court. Police suspect that another night guard named Khairul Islam, 35, son of Yasin Hawladar of Nalchhiti in Jhalakati district, who has gone into hiding since the incident, may be involved in the killing, Quoting the officials and staffs of the court, police said the miscreants attacked the victim and chopped him indiscriminately while he was having his dinner and left the scene after wrapping the body with mat. The staffs of the court found the body lying on the floor of the guardroom in a pool of blood at about 9:30am yesterday. On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Satkhira Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Although police are yet to ascertain the motive of the killing, they are suspecting Khairul, sources said. On contact, Assistant Police Super (ASP) Fazlur Rahman confirmed the incident and said they are trying to nab the killers.
