Guti banned for two matches

Real Madrid midfielder Guti was handed a two-match ban by the Spanish Football Federation's Competitions Committee on Tuesday after being sent off against Racing Santander at the weekend.

The 30-year-old was shown a straight red card in the dying minutes of Saturday's 3-1 league win for going into a challenge against Racing midfielder Vitolo with his elbow.

He will miss this Sunday's league match at Valencia and the following game at home to Athletic Bilbao.

Guti, who is a regular in the Real first team under new coach Fabio Capello, extended his contract with Real until 2010 earlier this week.
