4 members of a family injured in fire

Four members of a family, including a child, were seriously injured in a fire at their house at Kaliganj in Jhenidah yesterday.The injured are Sabita Ghose, Sumon, Maya and two-year-old Kabya. The fire broke out at 2:00pm when Sabita tried to light a gas stove close to a burning oven in the kitchen. The blaze spread rapidly, leaving Sabita and Kabya, who was playing nearby, badly burnt. Hearing their scream, Sumon and Maya rushed to the kitchen room to save them but they also sustained burn injuries. All the injured are now undergoing treatment at the Modern Clinic in the town.
