Police said they seized the motorcycles as the owners did not show licenses and other documents at 136 checkpoints set up at seven city entry points and other places.

Many motorcycle owners were found trying to influence and bribe policemen to release their motorbikes, but the law enforcers were firmed not to do anything illegally.

Police sources said the drive will contribute to curb criminal activities as criminals often use motorcycle in committing offences.
