Leaders of Nurul Islam faction at a meeting held with Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Nazmul Huq on Sunday demanded arrest of the criminals harboured by the city mayor and Ali Asgar Lobi as they were trying to flee the country. They urged police commissioner to arrest them immediately for the sake of peace in the city.

Nurul Islam, former city BNP general secretary Nazrul Islam Manju, district general secretary Shafiqul Alam Mona and former city vice president Morshed Alam were present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, both the factions of BNP announced to hold a rally at the Shaheed Maharaj Square at the same time today on the occasion of Revolution and Solidarity Day. Neither of the two factions got permission from city mayor or the KMP commissioner until yesterday afternoon while the factions were taking preparation to hold their rally there.
