'Bengal Bikash' talent hunt wraps up

The talent hunt Bengal Bikash organised by Bengal Foundation, wrapped up its finals on September 5 with Adhunik Gaan (modern songs). This was held at the Shaheed Zia Auditorium, National Museum. The judges' panel included Syed Abdul Hadi, Subir Nandi, Alauddin Ali, Fahmida Nabi and Sheikh Sadi Khan. The qualities they looked for in the performers were confidence and promising vocal skills. The auditorium was jam-packed with Bangladeshi modern song enthusiasts.Twenty finalists from all over the country at the event were -- Ivy Prodhan, Mohammed Arifuzzaman Plabon, Antara Bishwas Pinky, Dilruba Maria, Papri Majumder, Nahid Sultana, AKM Shahid Kabir Palash, Shimu Rani Dey, Shumana Rahaman, Farzana Haque, Anum Kumar Agarwal, Aminul Islam, Fahmida Rahman, Shoma Das, Sayeda Sadia Benjir, Sadia Islam Lucky, Panna Dutt, Anindita Sarkar, Risalat Jannat Asru and Farzana Begum Mimi. Ivy Prodhan from Dinajpur kicked off with Jey pakhi nijer khachhey. Next, it was Mohammed Arifuzzaman Plabon from Khulna. He rendered popular tracks Ekbar jodi keu bhalobashto and Shobai to bhalobasha chaye.Antara Bishwas Pinky from Sylhet who became the 1st runner up of the Lux Channel i Super Star last year, sang Jamuna ki boltey parey and Ami abhujer moto. Dilruba Maria from Chittagong sang O tota pakhi and Ei duniya ekhon to aar. Papri Majumder from Sylhet sang Chhiray gachhey binary-i taar. Next came Nahid Sultana from Munshiganj, who rendered Shukh Pakhirey and O bondhu kachhey theko. Shahin Kabir from Jamalpur performed Tumi to besh achho and Shob kichhu ujar korey. Shimu Rani Dey from Sirajganj rendered Bhaggotar ektai dosh and Bhalobashay bhalobashay. Shumana Rahaman from Meherpur, Farzana Haque from Dhaka, Anum Kumar Agarwal from Nilphamari, Md Aminul Islam from Rajshahi, Shoma Das from Dhaka, Sayeda Sadia Benazir from Dhaka, Panna Dutt from Narayanganj, Anindita Sarkar from Mymensingh and Farzana Begum Mimi and others from Jamalpur took the stage in turn.
