Arrest warrant against Jugantor editor, publisher

A Dhaka court yesterday issued warrant of arrest against the editor and publisher of the daily Jugantor in a defamation case filed by the ruling BNP lawmaker Abdul Mannan.Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Mizanur Rahman passed the order as Editor Golam Sarwar and its Publisher Salma Islam failed to appear before the court yesterday for bail. The court also granted bail to its News editor Ahmed Faruq Hassan and a local reporter of Nawabganj Zahirul Islam. Earlier, the court on June 27 summoned all of them to appear in person before the court.
