Foreign ministry reacts to Indian media reports on Mumbai blasts

A Foreign Ministry spokesman yesterday sharply reacted to the Indian media reports that explosives used in the Mumbai bomb blasts were supplied from Bangladesh.

"Indian media must avoid knee-jerk reactions," the spokesman said.

He said, "We've condemned the terror attacks in Mumbai in the strongest possible terms. Many of our newspapers also voiced their abhorrence of the attack in their editorials."

The Indian media should appreciate Bangladesh's strong stand against terrorism, rather than engage in "absurd speculations," the spokesman added.
