Saddam boycotts trial
Reuters, Baghdad
Saddam Hussein and his defence counsel boycotted his trial for crimes against humanity for a second day on Tuesday, forcing a two-week adjournment to give court-appointed lawyers time to prepare final arguments. The former Iraqi leader's half-brother and intelligence chief Barzan al-Tikriti, his former vice president, Taha Yassin Ramadan, and Revolutionary Court judge Awad Hamed al-Bander and their lawyers were also absent from the court.
