Netrakona Bomb Blasts
Dilly-dally in submitting charge sheet alleged

Udichi Shilpa Goshti in Netrakona, joined by leaders and activists of 14-party opposition alliance, formed a human chain in the town yesterday demanding punishment to killers of eight people including Udichi leaders Kawja Haider and Sudipta Pual Shali in the December 8 bomb blasts.

After the human chain, leaders of the alliance at a press conference at the district Awami League office alleged that police have adopted a dilly-dally tactics in submitting the charge sheet of the case and trying to save the killers by implicating innocent people.

Netrakona district AL president Samsujjuha, secretary Ashraf Ali Khan Kasru, join secretary Nur Khan Mitu addressed the press conference , attended by local Udichi leaders.

They said police could not make any headway in the investigation four and a half months after the incident as they are trying to save the killers.

They demanded arrest of the real culprits and submission of the charge sheet. Police sources said they have so far arrested four persons in connection with blasts.

The political leaders claimed that police did not arrest any cadre of Jamaatul Mujahideen, Bangladesh (JMB) though it was involved in the gruesome incident.

Netrakona has become a safe haven for JMB members due to inaction by police, they alleged. JMB organised itself under the protection of Jamaat-e-Islami, a partner in the ruling coalition, they claimed

The also demanded adequate compensation for the victims' families from the government.
