Our newspapers

We have many English language newspapers. Literally describing, each one of them looks different from others in writings, source materials, the quality, the quantity, approaches and styles, but they all have one thing in common. In all contexts of the term they are all English Language vernacular newspapers with a large or small following around them.

Ever since "The Daily Star" made its debut over a decade ago, I have been closely following its stories and columns with a great deal of interest, understanding and learning from their write-ups. My day starts usually with reading something from "The Daily Star" lying on my table.

The DS will remain under the care and within the attention of its readers' fold. One such example was found with the passing away of Mr. Rezaul Karim, Ambassador to Cairo. Although an unknown friend, yet I know him from his writings in your newspaper. I was a great admirer of him and have learned certain things from his writings.
