Cops hurt as bomb hurled on them

Criminals hurled a bomb at two traffic polices in the city's Picture Palace Square yesterday evening.

The on duty traffic constables Munir Hossain and Nibir were injured in the attack. Munir was admitted to Khulna General Hospital with splinter injuries to his leg.

According to eyewitnesses, two criminals hurled the bomb at the constables from a motorcycle around 6:30pm. The bomb exploded with a big bang creating panic in the square.

Police and members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) cordoned off the area and collected splinters of the bomb.

On Saturday, traffic Sergeant Faisal and constable Kamal survived, without a scratch, a similar bomb attack at Daulatpur bus stop.
