Ratification of UN declaration 1990 demanded

Welfare Association of Repatriated Bangladeshi Employees (WARBE) demanded ratification of 'UN declaration 1990' yesterday at a media discussion at Dhaka Reporters' Unity in the city. Migrant Forum in Asia funded the discussion on 'Neo liberal globalisation hinders poverty eradication and migration'. With the slogan 'Solidarity with the migrant workers and their family', it organised the media discussion on the eve of World Trade Organisation (WTO) ministerial meeting on December 14-16 in Hong Kong. It also aimed to support the publicity of Hong Kong Peoples Alliance (HKPA) and to protest the neo liberal WTO globalisation on migrant workers' rights. Vice Chairman of Warbe Abdul Mannan read out the keynote paper. C R Abrar, prof of Dhaka University and coordinator of Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU) was present as chief guest. Chairman of Warbe Sayd Saiful Haque presided over the meeting.
