Top BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders of Khulna have been provided with unprecedented security following the October 4 bomb attacks in the courts of three districts.Similar measures are yet to be taken to provide security to the leaders of other political parties including Awami League (AL). We are following the orders of the home ministry, said a senior officer of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) requesting anonymity. We feel insecure in the wake of the bomb attacks in the country, said Mostafa Rashid Shuja secretary of Khulna district AL and former whip. Alhaj Mizanur Rahman, city AL secretary who received several death threats from extremists, also expressed his concerns over the security issue. Most of the top leaders of Khulna AL, feeling insecure, have restricted their movements and political activities, said Sheikh Harun-ar-Rashid AL president of Khulna district.
