'Public safety under threat'

The 11-Party yesterday urged the opposition political parties, including Awami League, to continue united movement against four-party alliance government for its failure to provide peace and security to the people, says a press release.The speakers at the 11-Party meeting at the Workers Party office said public safety is under threat as the incidents of murder, mugging and rape has increased many fold. Thet also urged the people to build up resistance against the hoarders and brokers to check price hike of essentials. Gono Forum presidium member Advocate Zahirul Islam presided. Workers Party of Bangladesh General Secretary Bimol Bishwash, Gono Forum General Secretary Saifuddin Ahmed Manik, Presidium member Pankaj Bhattachariya, Mofijul Islam Kamal, Gono Azadi League President Hazi Abdus Samad, Gonotantrik Mojdur Party General Secretary Jakir Hossain and Shamyabadi Dal politburo member Abu Hamed Shahbuddin were present.
