Pesker sued

A case was filed against a Dhaka court staff (pesker) on charge of concealing a file of a cheating case at the judgement stage filed against one Rahamat Ullah Farazi. Moudud-Ur-Rashid, complainant of the case, on June 28 filed another criminal case against Pesker Nurul Islam and Rahamat, accused in the cheating case for missing the 'file'. A Dhaka court has ordered a judicial inquiry in this connection. Earlier, the matter was sent to the Metropolitan Magistrate Towfiqul Islam for conducting the judicial inquiry. In the case filed on April 21, 2003 Moudud of 46 South Basabo said Rahamat of Aziz Co-operative Society at Purana Paltan borrowed Tk.5 lakh from him but made different excuses to delay the payment. Later, Rahamat gave a cheque against Tk.5 lakh to Moudud, which was dishonoured by the scheduled bank. Later, the case was sent to the Metropolitan Magistrate Suzaet Ullah for its disposal but the case could not be disposed of following different excuses by the accused. Then Suzaet Ullah felt embarrassed and sent it to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) for next steps on May 15. The CMM transferred the case to the Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Shafiqul Islam for quick disposal on June 11. But the pesker in connivance with accused Rahamat allegedly concealed the 'case file'.
