I completely agree with Harry K. Thomas's observation that, the image of the United States notwithstanding, there is no shortage of recruits: people are still lining up for visas. But the same observation can be made of any successful criminal organisation. I don't think the Mafia has ever had any shortage of recruits. And the mothers of the Mafia people are, no doubt, just as proud of their sons.
