Doctors said blood clots found in the head, back, hands and legs of schoolboy Dipu Islam's exhumed body suggest that he had been beaten severely."There may be other causes also, but it seems he was beaten," a member of the medical board that carried out autopsy on Dipu's body said, adding that they will be certain about the cause of the 12-year-old schoolboy's death after conducting pathological test. Following a court order, a four-member medical board headed by Prof Akhteruzzaman, head of Forensic Medicine Department of Dhaka Medical College, carried out the post-mortem yesterday. A police inquest report also said there are black spots on the forehead and lips of the body. A class four student of Nayatola Government Primary School, Dipu died at a city hospital on Tuesday, three days after teachers beat him up mercilessly at his school. His body was exhumed from Azimpur Graveyard on Saturday after his mother filed a murder case with the Ramna Police Station on Thursday accusing the school Headmistress Shaheena Akhter and Assistant Headmaster Khorshedul Haq Khashru. Both the accused are now being quizzed under remand. On completion of autopsy, doctors handed over Dipu's body to his relatives.
