Parineeta, Vinod Chopra's new offering
Parineeta - The Married Woman, the latest film by renowned film director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, promises dazzling shots of the tea-laden hills of Darjeeling, along with the hectic hustle-bustle of Kolkata.

The film based on a novel written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyaya, one of the classic writers of Bengali literature, is scheduled to release in April 2005.

Starring Sunjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Raima Sen, and newcomer Vidya Balan, the intense love saga explores the differences between a man and woman's perception of love and commitment.

Vidya Balan, who can be seen in many commercials, is making her big silver screen debut with this film, where she plays the title role of Parineeta.

The other lady in the film is Raima Sen. Raima plays the character of Koyel who is in love with Sanjay Dutt.

Koyel's character from the original novel has been altered and extended to make it more significant for the film. Raima has earlier worked with Pradip Sarkar in a commercial.

According to filmmakers, the film had been shot on a hectic 50-day shoot, and is now almost complete.

The film has music by Shantanu Moitra and lyrics by Swanand Kirkire.
