Police yesterday recovered the body of an abducted schoolboy in Chuadanga and rescued another abducted boy Thursday in Kushtia, while outlaws Sunday kidnapped a businessman.Chuadanga police said they recovered the body of Ahmed Hossain, 13, son of Julmat Ali of Pirer Bazar village in Kaliganj in Jhenidah, from Nehalpur field. He seemed to have been strangled. Criminals Wednesday abducted him from Jhenidah but did not demand ransom for his release, the police added. In Kushtia, Jamirul and Dulal, cadres of outlawed New Biplobi Communist Party, abducted Azmot Ali, 56, a businessman and retired schoolteacher. He was returning home at Chadat village in Khoksa upazila after withdrawing Tk 20,000 from the Sonali Bank's Khoksa Bazar branch. Locals Tuesday held Jamirul and Dulal, beat up and handed them over to police. "They've told us nothing about Azmot and been remanded for three more days," Sub-inspector Akbar Hossain of Khoksa police told The Daily Star over phone. A member of the victim's family speaking anonymously said the cadres had earlier demanded Tk 30,000 from Azmot, who gave them Tk 10,000. In Daulatpur, police rescued six-year-old Titu and arrested his captor Kutub Uddin, former business partner of his father, from Crafordnagar village. Titu, son of Korban Ali of Ratandia village in Pangsha upazila in Rajbari, was abducted Wednesday and taken to Kushtia. Police said Korban and Kutub had an altercation over sharing of properties after their business closed down.
