Clarification
The Concord Entertainment Company Limited yesterday referred to a news item published in The Daily Star on January 20 under the headline 'Protect Foy's Lake from pollution,' to clarify that it has developed the lake into a world class amusement centre and four engine-run boats have been kept in the lake for security of the visitors. Our reply: the report was based on a rally of environmental organisations including Bangladesh Paribesh Andolan (Bapa) where leaders of the organisations alleged that plying of engine-run boats in the Foy's Lake are polluting the water.
