Tamheed Islam Aleen, a promising young cricketer, harboured a dream of playing for the national team, but he had his dream shattered when he was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia, a cancer of white blood cells.Aleen, a first division player and HSC student of Rangpur Government College, is now under the treatment of Dr ABM Yunus of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and his condition is deteriorating day by day. According to doctors, only bone marrow transplantation can bring him back to normal life. But such treatment will cost around Tk 50 lakh which his father Zahurul Islam, an assistant teacher of Rangpur Zila School, could not afford. His family appeals to the generous people to extend a helping hand to save Aleen's life.
