Compensation for Tengratila fire demanded

Speakers at a rally yesterday demanded that the government realise compensation from the authorities concerned for Tengratila gas field fire. They also demanded punishment to the persons responsible for the fire. The rally was organised by Paribesh Bachao Andolon, a forum of environmentalists, at Shahbagh in the city. These accidents are taking place because of immoral games played by bureaucrats, politicians and 'foreign looters', they added. Presided over by noted columnist Syed Abul Mokshud, the rally was also addressed by Abu Naser Khan, Ruhin Hossain Prince and Golam Kibria, said a press release.
