Rule Nisi upon home ministry

The High Court (HC) Division of Supreme Court has issued Rule Nisi upon the Ministry of Home Affairs and concerned law enforcing agencies not to harass and arrest Khulna City Corporation ward commissioner Mohammad Hossain without any warrant.The HC Division Bench comprising Justice Shah Abu Nayam Mominur Rahman and Justice Moynul Islam Chowdhury issued the order on Sunday upon a writ petition filed on October 30. The Division Bench has further directed to ensure security of life and property of the ward commissioner under sections 43 and 31 of Bangladesh constitution. Mohammad Hossain, an expelled leader of city Awami League was elected commissioner from Ward No 31 in the last KCC election securing the highest number of votes among all 40 ward commissioners.
