Jamaat MP asks police not to harass grenade attack suspect

A Jamaat-e-Islami lawmaker reportedly has asked police not to harass the family members of Mokbul Hossain Mukul, a suspect in the August 21 grenade attacks on an Awami League rally in Dhaka.

Earlier, police arrested and pressed some relatives of Mukul to tell them about his whereabouts. The arrestees were, however, released later.

Sent by Jamaat lawmaker Maulana Abdul Khaleque Mondal, local Jamaat leader Sahid Hasan requested Sadar Police Station Officerin-Charge Abdul Kader Beg not to harass Mukul's family members, sources said.
