The 18-year-old victim was returning with a colleague to her Golartek residence through the graveyard at around 8:30pm when a gang barred them, the victim said.

"The gang of six including a guard of the graveyard and one Babu, tied my colleague to a nearby pole and raped me one after another."

"The six fled when a pedestrian came forward hearing my cries," she said.

The critically injured victim is undergoing treatment at One-stop Crisis Centre (OCC) at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Meanwhile, the victim alleged that the duty officer at Mirpur Police Station refused to register her case unless she provides a medical certificate.

The officer-in-charge of Mirpur Police Station denied the allegation.
