Lady Curzon's wish

This has reference to the letter from Mr ABM Shafiqul Islam published on 13 October '04. The writer has aptly described Taj as the "most sublime monument of imperial love." Nehru described it as the "dream of beauty". Age after age, the poets, literary figures and connoisseurs of beauty and art have used their imagination to describe in their own style the eternal glory of love as depicted on the white marble mausoleum built at Agra. It is said that Lady Curzon after, having seen the Taj on a moonlit night, exclaimed in her bewilderment that she was ready to embrace an immediate death if someone promised to erect such a memorial on her grave !
