Missing Sylhet magnate yet to be rescued
Staff Correspondent, Sylhet
Police could not rescue magnate Md Habibur Rahman, who has been missing for the last five days, until yesterday.Habibur's brother filed a case with Kotwali Police Station Thursday night. Earlier, he filed a GD Monday. Meantime, anonymous callers Tuesday told Habibur's wife over telephone that he was in good condition. However, they did not identify themselves or claim anything. The incident has triggered tension among the business community, especially the wholesale traders, in the city. Habibur went missing since October 17 after he went to meet his second wife in Shahjalal Upashahar. His family suspects he was abducted for ransom. Police picked up Emad, nephew and employee of Habibur, for interrogation Wednesday but released him the next day. A police official said they still have no clue. The case may be handed over to Detective Branch of police in a couple of days, he added.
