Lancashire hire Muralitharan

Sri Lanka's world record wicket-taker Muttiah Muralitharan will return to county cricket and play again for Lancashire next season, the English side announced on Tuesday.The 32-year-old off-spinner, however, will only be available for the first half of the season due to international commitments. Murali was the overseas player at Old Trafford during the 1999 and 2001 seasons during which period he took a total of 116 wickets in 14 first-class matches at an average of 15.
