Human chain in Ctg to protest distortion of history

"Amra Muktijoddhar Santan" (we are the wards of the freedom fighters) of Chittagong district unit formed a human chain yesterday titled "wall of resistance" on the local press club premises protesting distortion of the country's liberation war history in the "Muktijuddher Dalilpatra".Around three hundred sons and daughters of freedom fighters took part in the human chain for 30 minutes wearing masks and holding placards. They also burnt the newly published "Muktijuddher Dalilpatra" and rejected the book saying it has distorted the actual history of the liberation war. A rally was held afterwards at the same venue at 11:30am. District Committee Convenor Sarwar Alam Chowdhury of "Amra Muktijoddhar Santan" presided over the rally where Professor Dr Abu Yousuf Alam, former pro vice chancellor of Chittagong University and a freedom fighter, attended as the chief guest. Moktar Ahmed chief of "Sechhashebok Bahini" of the liberation war, freedom fighter Nurul Islam, former general secretary of Chittagong University Teachers' Association Helal Uddin Nizami and Abul Hashem, vice chairman of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council, also took part in the rally. Speakers at the rally urged people from all walks of life to come forward and launch a united movement against the distortion of liberation war history.
