Q & A
'I never plan ahead'
Shibli Muhammad, a gifted dancer, speaks to
First ever performance
It was a live performance in the mid-1980s at the Biswa Sahitya Kendra. Among the audience were Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Asad Chowdhury and KM Harun who appreciated my performance. Soon after, I was invited to perform on television.

Parnership with Shamim Ara Neepa
The audience preferred to see us dance together. So did the producers and directors. We are so used to performing jointly that we can even do without a rehearsal.

What scares you?
Honestly speaking, I am scared of human beings. I am not afraid of ferocious animals at all. Because I have had some bitter experiences, I feel human beings are much more vindictive than animals.

What if one fine morning nobody knew you anymore?
I would be very happy if something happened like that because it would be much easier for me to lead my life the way I want to.

Regrets
I have no regrets at becoming a dancer. Rather, I feel blessed because it has enabled me to interact with people all over the world.

Dreams
I don't believe in daydreaming, because I feel that life is temporary. I believe in the present and live for today.

Aspiration
I wanted to be a doctor. But I studied physics and became a dancer. There was no specific plan for me to become a dancer, as I said before I never plan ahead.

Secrets
I don't trust human beings. However, I love every living being. Lastly, I believe that everybody should become a good human being.

Favourite pastime
Sunil Gangapadhyay, Shirshendu Mukhapadhyay and Shamaresh Majumdar are my favourite authors and I love reading their books. On a moonlit night, I love to listen to Jagjit Singh's ghazals. He is my favourite.

Fitness
I work out in the gym regularly. Although I enjoy a fancy meal, I eat moderately.
