Killer Razzak was creating pressure on his wife Kanchan for several days to hand over Tk 4,000 which she got as loan for poultry farming from Grameen Bank. Razzak's mother Tahera Khatun was encouraged her son to create pressure on Kanchan. But she denied.

On the fateful night, Razzak started beating his wife to realise the money until her death. Their eight-year-old son Rahen observed the scene. Razzak warned him not to disclose the incident to others. But he started crying for his mother.

At this stage Razzak strangled his son. Police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Kushtia General Hospital for autopsy. Kanchan's father Mokkel Sardar filed a casewith Sadar police. Police arrested Kanchan's mother -in-law, but killer Razzak was absconding.
