US girl in city to create mass awareness about diabetes

Clare Rosenfeld, an 18-year-old student of the United States, arrived in the city on Tuesday to create mass awareness about diabetes in Bangladesh by urging authorities concerned to be more active in preventing the disease.

A type-1 diabetic patient herself, Rosenfeld will visit several medical institutions including Birdem and NHN centre, and meet diabetic patients to understand their condition and treatment of diabetes in Bangladesh.

Rosenfeld's trip has been organised by a leading global producer of Insulin 'Novo Nordisk' that prevents diabetes.
