Four taxicab snatchers jailed


The Speedy Trial Tribunal sentenced two people to five years imprisonment and two others to four years for snatching a taxicab.

Masud, 25, and Abdul Kader Rana, 25, were sentenced to five years imprisonment while Mamunur Rashid Russell, 26, and Jaman, 26, to four years and were fined Tk 2,000 each.

The case history is in brief: The convicts hired a taxicab from Uttara for going to Sataish in Tongi on February 26 and hijacked the cab, dropping its driver on the way.
