Save Jatka

For quite some time, I read in the news media that our ministers and high officials are going around in motor launches, speed boats etc. on river cruise with banners requesting people to refrain from catching Jatka or hilsha fry. To me, it seems like a picnic for the officials, which brings publicity to them and achieves nothing. However, their sporting outfits (T-shirt/ Cap) look very attractive.

All they need to do is to take a rickshaw (instead of their big cars) and go to any market in Dhaka where Jatka is sold openly and ensure that the seller is arrested on the spot, sent to Jail and the stock seized. They must also find out the source of supply of Jatka and punish the suppliers .

Unless our high officials have come from the moon, they ought to be aware of the situation.
