Inu asks opposition lawmakers to resign

Chairman of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Hasanul Haq Inu yesterday asked the opposition lawmakers to resign from the parliament to expedite fall of the government.

Inu also called on the people to form a greater political alliance based on especial programmes to pave the way for a national government.

On the occasion of Mass Demand Day, Inu at a meeting in front of the JSD office in Bangabandhu Avenue blasted the government for not initiating independence of the jurisdiction despite having two-thirds majority in parliament.

He said the opposition parties are accusing the government of making the parliament inactive. Instead of recognising main opposition Awami League, the government is trying to destroy it, he added.

"If the government doesn't quit, misrule and public sufferings will continue," said Inu, adding even the parliamentary system may face a breakdown.

The JSD leaders alleged that they were forced to shift from their scheduled venue of Muktangan, as Ramna unit BNP occupied the place despite JSD's declaration of holding a meeting there.
