President, PM visit Prof Azad at CMH

President Iajuddin Ahmed and Prime Minister Khaleda Zia yesterday visited Prof Humayun Azad at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka. Prof Azad was severely injured by unidentified miscreants near Bangla Academy on the night of February 27. As the president enquired about his health condition, Azad tried to respond, muttering a few words. The physicians and surgeons informed the president that Azad's condition was improving. Prof Azad's son, sister and brother were present. Prime Minister Khaleda Zia visited Prof Azad at the CMH at noon. Talking to the injured Dhaka University (DU) teacher, the prime minister said the culprits must be arrested and brought to justice. Prof Azad talked to the prime minister and expressed his gratitude to her for the government's cooperation and support for his better treatment. Responding to a request from the family members of Prof Azad, Khaleda assured of sending Azad abroad for better treatment, if necessary, and said the efforts to ensure his best treatment would continue. Physicians and surgeons engaged in the treatment of Azad informed the prime minister about his improving condition and briefed her about his injuries. Azad's son, sister and brother were present when the prime minister visited the DU teacher of Bangla department. The prime minister was accompanied , among others, by her Political Secretary Mohammad Mosaddek Ali.
