England, Canada due today


England and Canada will arrive today to take part in the ICC Under-19 World Cup to be held at eight different venues across the country from February 15.

The English boys will be the second squad to fly into the city this morning after Nepal arrived here on January 31. The Canadians, whose seniors pulled off an upset win against Bangladesh in the 2003 World Cup, are expected to land later in the day.

The remaining participants -- regaining champions Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Uganda, Scotland and Papua New Guinea -- will arrive by different flights tomorrow.

The teams are coming early to attend the grand opening ceremony at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on February 10.

England: Samit Patel, Ravinder Bopara, Tim Bresnan, Dan Broadbent, Alastair Cook, Steven Davies, Adam Harrison, James Hildreth, Mark Lawson, Tom New, Liam Plunkett, David Stiff, Mark Turner and Luke Wright. Canada: Umar Bhatti, Simon Upton, Durand Soraine, Trevin Bastiampillai, Gavin Bastiampillai, Muhammad Qazi, Ryan Lall, Kenneth Carto, Soham Anjaria, Karun Jethi, Shaheed Keshvani, Adam Baksh, Krunalbhai Patel and Aabid Keshvani.
