Big arms recovery in CHT forests
Rocket launcher, sub-machine gun, rifle, explosives among cache


Army recovered huge arms and explosives from deep forests of Dhighinala of Khagrachhari and Baghaihat of Rangamati district in last four days.

The recovery includes a rocket launcher, a sub-machine gun (SMG), a rifle, an airgun, 39 SMG bullets, 913 papers, 76 gel explosives, 200 yards of detonation cords, safety fuse, cell and container explosives.

Besides, three colour televisions, a video camera, a sewing machine, army uniforms, and a walkie-talkie were retrieved from the deep-forest hideout of criminals, some 25 kilometres off Baghaihat army camp.

Army sources said the arms and explosives were recovered on the basis of secret information during a combing operation in the last four days.

Sensing the presence of the army, the criminals who are yet to be identified left the spot, the sources added.

On November 24 last year, army also recovered huge arms and explosives from remote areas of Baghaihat.
