Winter clothes distributed among destitutes
Sylhet Samity Uttara, an association of the city's Uttara residents hailing from greater Sylhet, distributed winter clothes among 1,500 slum dwellers recently, says a press release.Samity President Ashfaquddin Chowdhury conducted the distribution programme at its office at sector # 7 of Uttara. Samity General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury and other members were also present. They distributed warm clothes among the slum dwellers living on the bank of river Turag. Children's Voice The Children's Voice, a child development organisation, distributed 500 pieces of warm clothes among the destitute children and their mothers at Dhaka Shishu Hospital, says a press release. Director of Bangladesh Institute of Child Health and Chairman of the Children's Voice Prof. Selim Shakur, Kazi Ali Reza of UNIC, Director of Shishu Hospital Dr. Chowdhury Md Haider Ali, and Kamrul Islam Sony of LIFE coordinated the distribution drive.
