Sports Reporter
Rain washed out the third day's play of the third round matches in Ispahani Tea Fifth National Cricket League at different venues in the country yesterday. The interruption, which did not allow a ball being bowled all day, frustrated Barisal, Sylhet and Chittagong as they were in advantageous position against their respective opponents. Lowly Barisal almost confirmed four points as they, for the first time, took a 76-run first innings lead over Rajshahi at the Barisal Stadium. They scored 266 runs in reply to Rajshahi's 190. At the Sylhet Stadium, Dhaka were struggling against the hosts when they lost five wickets for 147 at stumps on Day Two in reply to Sylhet's mammoth 331 runs. Defending champions Khulna were also facing a huge task against Chittagong at the Comilla Stadium as the tourists lost three wickets for 81 runs in reply to the port city side's first innings total of 389 runs.
