Sharma, Aminul earn full points


Indian International Master (IM) DK Sharma and Bangladesh's Fide Master Khandokar Aminul Islam only managed to secure full points after the end of the first round games in the Victory Day Leonine Grand Masters Chess tournament at the National Sports Council conference room yesterday.

Sharma beat his compatriot Debasish Mukherjee while Aminul beat fellow countryman Manzoor Alam.

Bangladeshi IM Abdullah Al Rakib shared points with Russian Grand Master Alexander Fomiynah while another local IM Reefat Bin Sattar also drew his first board with GM Niaz Murshed.

The battle of two GMs Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh and Alexi Barasov of Uzbekistan also ended in a draw.
