When I was a little girl',says Mahin Khan 'we used to have a gala time on Eid. Family and friends would gather to put mehendi on the night before. Back then, we didn't have mehendi tubes like today. We would pluck the leaves from our henna tree. On Eid day, we would go to our grandmother's and have loads of fun. Nowadays, the whole concept has changed. Today making shemai and kebabs for friends and relatives is not a big deal. You can just drive up to a store and buy them. But back then, lots of preparations would be made for days at a stretch, planning out the food menu and everything else that went with it.'

'This year,'Mahin says , ' Eid will be very simple as usual. I was very busy with my new collection throughout the month, so I would definitely enjoy some time with my family. We'll try to spend some quality time together, maybe cook at home and have dinner. This will also be the best time to re-unite with old friends.'

She adds, 'I am looking forward to the new Eid collection that I have worked on. I have worked with hard fabrics, with a different style and colour. Of course the look is quite traditional, but the layout is more trendy, where I have also used electric colours in yellow, blue and lots of turquoise. As for me, I'll be wearing a simple cotton shelwar kameez this Eid.'

'This Eid , a few of my songs are going to be telecast on BTV, ntv and ATN. I was going to do another show for Channel-i as well, but my son got hurt recently while playing and he was in plaster these days. I am really worried about my son, I hope he gets strong enough to enjoy Eid 'says Shakila Zafar.

'I am specially happy this year, since my husband is coming to celebrate Eid with us. He works in Dubai and comes just a few times a year to be with us. Eid is definitely going to be wonderful. Well, I haven't got much of a plan drawn out for the occation.'

'I think I am almost done with my Eid shopping. I have bought gifts for my family and friends.. I got quite a lot of gifts myself! I usually shop well in time before Eid.'
